for those who left a comment, thank you so much <3 i’m gonna reply to them and write a little more this weekend ( i hope). it’s been a strange week for me battling my own little demons. if anything, the excess fats around my thighs is helping me bounce back a little faster. and there’s nothing like a little jiggle to make things better again.
well, later then. and thank you again.

the end of the season is here. it is also my favourite part of the season. petal-strewn road, the wind blows, tiny pink petals, some taking flight from the ground, some finally falling away from the tree, they meet in the air again, and dance.
桜吹雪
i am still learning so much. even if i am slow at it, even if i don’t know as much as i ought to , what i at least have is the prolonged pleasure of learning something new, no matter how little, every other day. it is a small happiness. a simple one. and the best thing is, i am happy with it.
and this is what being in japan has done for me. i am losing a lot of the nervousness that used to plague me, i am learning how not to run away from things i think i can’t do. i am smiling at people whether they return it or not. i am realising that while “don’t mind” is bad japanese-english, i quite like it.

自分らしく生きたい。マイペイスでいいじゃない。

i was visiting a friend’s friend’s blog and she wrote about how awesome her wedding photographer was. i had a peek at his site and true enough, he is indeed awesome. so awesome that there was suddenly a lot of frothing going on inside my head.
so i dug out some pictures i took for my friends three years ago and started editing them. vivian and johnson were the nicest people to photograph-spontaneous, happy and infinitely kind. i had little confidence but they told me to come along anyway, and i was glad i did. in any case, being the backup took half the stress away, and it turned out to be so much fun.

so many white poofy memories, and bubbles in my head. lots of them.
i would love to do this again.

but what if dreams do come true…

white crocuses on a rainy spring day
when i was taking the picture, sugawara sensei walked toward me . “crocus,” he said. “one of the first flowers to bloom in spring.”
but by the time i got home, i have forgotten the name, like i always do. so i flipped open my illustrated nature almanac for children, which i coveted for months and received as a present from the boyfriend, and found a little hand-drawn picture of purple crocuses in full bloom with a little description:
“チューリップのように、夜や雨の日に花びるをとじます。”
(like tulip, the petals close in the evening and on a rainy day.)
spring is my new beginning. i want to learn about the types of flowers that bloom in this season, and differentiate between cherry and plum blossoms. i want to start noticing the little things around me that i have taken for granted, know their names and their characteristics, and not forget them.
for me, magic comes in small packages.

happy birthday to my dearest sis. miss all of you back home lots.
